Light Up Bike Spectacle Held in Whanganui Posted on May 13, 2018May 14, 2018 by Jason Lane The first Light Up Bike Spectacle was held in Whanganui on Friday. The family-friendly community event saw around 500 people stretch along the Te Tuaiwi Shared Pathway on St Hill Street and the City to North Mole Shared Pathway, riding bikes with illuminated wheels, and walking with lanterns. Participants were entertained along the way by glowing performers from the River Rockers Whanganui, Wanganui Community Choir, Kung Fu School, Community Drumming Whanganui and the Wanganui Boys and Girls Gym Club. On display throughout the parade were lanterns made at a school holiday lantern-making workshop, held by the Whanganui Regional Museum and Rangiwahia Environmental Arts Centre.
