Light Up Bike Spectacle

Dig out your Christmas lights and pump up your bike tyres – it’s time for the first ever Light Up Bike Spectacle!
Join us at 5.30pm, Friday May 4 for an extravaganza in bicycle art, performance and DIY wheel decoration. This all-ages, all-wheels event will parade along the shared pathway next to our beautiful awa – the Whanganui River. The parade will start from 120 St Hill Street (the old Briscoes car park).

We will also celebrate Te Tuaiwi, the new inner city cycleway. Scooters, buggies, unicycles, skateboards, roller skates, wheelchairs and more are all welcome! Along the way a range of lit-up surprises will delight and amaze.

Illuminate your own wheels (the more creative the better)! Keep an eye out for information on free workshops to be held on 27 and 28 April to help you out, hosted by our partners Rangiwahia Environmental Arts Centre and the Whanganui Regional Museum.

Rain date is Saturday May 5.
